Terms of Service
Last updated: 23 September 2026
1. Who you are contracting with
Services are provided by Integrity Lift Compliance Ltd, registered in England & Wales, Companies House No. 17157968 ("we", "us"). Contact: info@integrityliftcompliance.co.uk or 07496 873972.
2. What we provide
We carry out independent thorough examinations of lifting equipment under LOLER 1998, examinations and risk assessments of work equipment under PUWER 1998, and related engineering reporting. Each engagement is confirmed in writing before attendance, setting out the equipment in scope and the site.
We act as the competent person carrying out the examination. We do not act as your maintenance provider.
3. Our independence
We do not sell, install, maintain, repair or supply parts for the equipment we examine, and we receive no commission from anyone who does. A defect recorded in one of our reports is a finding, not a quotation. If we ever hold an interest that could affect our impartiality on a particular job, we will tell you before we attend and you can decline the engagement.
4. What we need from you
An examination depends on the equipment being available and safe to examine. You agree to provide:
- safe access to the equipment and to the plant room, roof, shaft or bay it sits in;
- isolation of the equipment where the examination requires it, at the agreed time;
- previous Reports of Thorough Examination, examination schemes and maintenance records where they exist;
- accurate information about modifications, damage, or periods out of service;
- any site induction, permit or access requirement made known to us in advance.
Where access or isolation is not available on arrival, the examination may not be completable on that visit.
5. Reports
A Report of Thorough Examination is issued to the duty-holder for the equipment. The report records the condition of the equipment as found on the date of examination; it is not a warranty of future condition, and it does not certify any period of continued safe operation beyond the next due date it states.
Where we identify a defect that is or could become a danger to persons, we will tell you, and where the regulations require it we will notify the relevant enforcing authority. This duty is not something you can contract out of, and we will not withhold such a report.
You may copy and share your own reports freely — with insurers, clients, managing agents or an inspector.
6. The duty stays with you
Engaging us does not transfer the duty-holder's obligations under LOLER 1998 or PUWER 1998. Deciding whether equipment remains in service, acting on the findings in a report, and keeping equipment maintained between examinations all remain yours. Where responsibility for equipment in a leased or managed building is unclear, see our guidance on who holds the duty.
7. Information on this website
Our knowledge base, FAQs and inspection interval chart are general guidance, published in good faith and sourced to HSE guidance and the regulations themselves. They are not advice on your specific equipment and do not replace a written examination scheme drawn up by a competent person.
8. Complaints
If you disagree with a finding or are unhappy with how an examination was carried out, contact us at info@integrityliftcompliance.co.uk. We will respond within five working days, and where a finding is disputed the examining surveyor will set out the engineering basis for it in writing.
9. Governing law
These terms and any engagement under them are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. The version in force for an engagement is the one published at the date the engagement was confirmed. Commercial terms for a specific engagement — scope, fees and scheduling — are set out in the written confirmation for that job and take precedence over this page where they differ.
